Instant Pot Cajun Rice Dressing

Equipment

  • Instant Pot | Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

  • (1) 16 oz Container Savoie's Cajun Dressing Mix
  • (3/4 - 1) Cup White Medium Grain Rice Savoie's Cajun Rice Dressing Mix calls for 1 cup of rice. I like to use 3/4 cup of rice to make it more flavorful and moist.
  • (3/4 - 1) Cup Chicken Broth If you are using 3/4 cup of rice then add 3/4 cup of chicken broth. If you are using 1 cup of rice then add 1 cup of chicken broth.
  • 1 Tbsp Tony Chachere's Seasoning

Instructions

  • First, put Instant Pot on saute mode (high) and add your thawed Savoie’s Cajun Dressing mix and 1 cup of chicken broth.  Stir to mix them together.   I put the pot on saute while I mix everything together so it starts heating up.  You are not actually browning anything in the recipe.
  • Then add your 1 tbsp. of Tony Chachere's Seasoning or your seasoning of choice.
  • Next, rinse your rice and put it in your Instant Pot.  Stir to mix everything together.
  • Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position.
  • Then press the “Pressure Cook” button.  Next, press the “Pressure Level” button until you have selected “High Pressure”.
  • Turn the timer on for 6 minutes. Once pressure builds up, the timer will start counting down.
  • After the timer has completed turn the steam release valve to “Venting” for a quick release of steam.  Watch it close.  You may have to close it and open it just partially if some of the liquid sprays out.  **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
