Instant Pot Duo Crisp Air Fryer Chicken Breasts

Equipment

  • Instant Pot Duo Crisp plus Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1.5 - 2 lbs. Chicken Breasts
  • Seasoning of your choice We use Red Rub or Tony Chachere's
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Avocado Spray Optional
  • Water

Instructions

  • First, sprinkle your seasoning of choice all over your chicken breast and rub it into the meat.  (We get our chicken breasts preseasoned from our local grocery store, so this saves us a little time in the kitchen 😉)
  • Next, dampen the chicken breast with a little cold water.  Don’t rinse off all of your seasoning just dampen them.
  • Then dump some breadcrumbs on one side of your chicken breast.  Flip them over and sprinkle more breadcrumbs or use the extra that spilled over from the first side.  Keep flipping them until all of your chicken breast are covered.
  • Next, place your chicken breast inside of the air fryer basket in your Instant Pot Duo Crisp Plus Air Fryer.  You can spray the top side of them with your avocado spray if you want them extra crispy.  We don’t spray ours for this recipe sometimes and they turn out just fine.
  • Place your air fryer lid on top of your Instant Pot and set the temperature to 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Your Instant Pot will pause in the middle of the cook time and tell you when you need to flip your chicken breast.  Flip them when it tells you to do so.  If you are using an avocado oil spray this is when you would spray the other side of your chicken breast and then continue cooking under the air fryer lid.  Again, it is optional if you want to use the avocado spray or air fry them without it.  They turn out just fine either way.
  • Then once the 10-minute timer has run down flip your chicken breast again and cook at 400 degrees for another 10minutes.  You will flip your chicken breast again in the middle of this cook time when your Instant Pot tells you to do so.
  • Finally, once the timer is done open your Instant Pot Air Fryer lid and stick your meat thermometer into the thickest part of your chicken breast to make sure the internal temperature has reached 165 degrees.  If so then your chicken breasts are ready to serve.  If they are not 165 degrees put your lid back on and cook for a few more minutes until the internal temperature is 165degrees.  Please Note – Our two chicken breasts were very thick and closer to 2 lbs in total.  If your chicken breasts are thinner or less weight you can probably adjust the cooking time or temp a little so that you do not overcook them.
