First place your trivet in your Instant Pot.
Next add your 1 cup of chicken broth.
Then place your seasoned chicken breast on your trivet.
Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position.
Next, press the chicken/poultry cook button. Set the timer for 8 minutes per pound of chicken. (I use the Instant Pot cook time which is 6-8 minutes per pound for poultry.)
After the timer has completed do a 10-minute natural pressure release. **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
We check our meat with a digital thermometer to make sure it has reached the required temperature immediately after opening the lid.
Then, to make your gravy, use the juices in the bottom of your Instant Pot. Turn your
Instant Pot on “Saute”. Mix a little cornstarch and about 1 cup of chicken broth in a bowl on the side. Next, mix it together with the juices that are left in your Instant Pot. Stir while it heats up. It only takes a few minutes before it starts to thicken. You can add more
chicken broth for more gravy or to thin it out if needed.
