Easy Instant Pot Salmon and Asparagus Recipe

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker - Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • Parchment Paper
  • Butter
  • Seasoning of your choice
  • 12 oz. Salmon Fillets thawed
  • 1 bunch Asparagus

Instructions

  • First, cut off the ends of your asparagus.
  • Next, make two boats with parchment paper.  One for the asparagus and one for the salmon.  Make sure to use large enough pieces of parchment paper so that you can fold it over and close all sides of the paper together.
  • Then, place your salmon in one boat and your asparagus in the other.  Sprinkle the top of
both with your seasonings of choice.  We like Nature Seasoning for our asparagus.  Nature Seasoning is a mixture of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.  We use a cajun/creole seasoning for our Salmon.  Most of the time we use Tony Chachere's for this or a cajun seasoning that you can only get locally here in Louisiana.
  • Next, place spoonfuls of butter over both your asparagus and salmon.
  • Fold the parchment paper over both and seal all the sides.  I fold the ends all the way around and then fold the corners in kind of like you would when wrapping a present.
  • Then, place one cup of water and your trivet into your Instant Pot.  We use the trivet that came with our Instant pot for this.
  • Next place your Salmon boat on top of the trivet then place your asparagus boat on top of that.
  • Close and seal your Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
  • After the timer has completed turn the steam release valve to “Venting” for a quick release of steam.  **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
