Why are my Instant Pot pork chops tough?

When you do a quick release of pressure in your Instant Pot sometimes it can make your pork chops or any meat tough. We like to do a natural release for most of our Instant Pot recipes. Sometimes we will do a 10 minute natural release and then a quick release of the remaining pressure. This will help keep your pork chops or any meat tender.

How long does it take to cook pork in the Instant Pot?

The Instant Pot cook guide states 15 minutes per pound of pork. We like to cook our pork extra long with a natural release so it is fall apart tender and has absorbed all the extra flavors. You should always check your pork with a digital meat thermometer to make sure that it has reached the required internal temperature before eating. We use one like this.

Wow! Made to the recipe exactly. No need for a knife to cut your pork a fork will do. Everything was perfect. Great recipe and we will make again.

This was delicious! I used cream of mushroom soup, as I didn’t realize until I needed it that I had no cream of chicken. My husband loved it, and even our 2 year old gobbled up some pork chop. That’s a win!

Does this have a strong Ranch flavor? My wife doesn’t care for Ranch dressing, but I have made things with that as an ingredient that were to her liking. If the cajun spices changes the flavor so that it doesn’t taste just like Ranch, I think she’ll like it.

So good. I didn’t have the Cajun seasoning a I used a poultry/pork seasoning, so good! I would add carrots next time. And yes, no knife needed!

This is hands down my favorite pork chop recipe! The pork chops literally melted in the gravy with the potatoes. I made my mom’s sugar fried green beans with it and it was a perfect side!

My family of 4 (with 2 of those being super picky) loved this recipe. Our grocery stores were limited on pork products so I used pork country style boneless ribs and they were great!

I had pork chops I had to use and they were rather then. I had groceries delivered and we are having a lot of shortages locally. Instead of cream of chicken soup they substituted mushroom and instead of chicken stock they sent beef. I decided to go with what I had, which included Lipton Onion Soup instead of Ranch packet. To top it off my red potatoes didn’t look good so I used russet. It turned out amazing!! I was so stressed because everything was going wrong! Because my chops were so thin they came apart. There are no left overs and my son was licking the bowl. I am definitely cooking again but look at the pantry better before I do.

Question: can this recipe be doubled?? I don’t know if they’ll undercook if I do a layer of 3 and then stagger another layer of 3?

I made this recipe and it was delicious. I didn’t have red potatoes on hand, so I used russet potatoes and cut into chunks. I also used cream of mushroom soup, because I didn’t have cream of chicken. We really enjoyed it. The pork chops were fall off the bone tender! We’ll be making this again!
