Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes

This Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes recipe is very simple but so good.  We love simple recipes that we can cook in our Instant Pot that only require a few ingredients also.  A couple of weeks ago we made this Instant Pot Ground Beef and Rice recipe.  It turned out perfectly, so I decided to make an Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes version.

Raw ground meat, tony chachere's, onion, bell pepper, nature seasoning, potatoes, chicken broth, and an Instant Pot on a kitchen counter.

 

Ingredients – Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes

2 lb. Ground Beef

2 lb. Potatoes

4 Heaping Spoonful’s of Dark Roux

1 Cup Diced Onion and Bell Peppers

1 Tbsp Morton Nature Seasoning (salt, pepper, onion powder, & garlic powder mixture)

1 Tbsp Tony Chachere’s Seasoning (Creole Season All)

2 Cups of Chicken Broth

4 Cups of Water


 

Instructions – Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes

#1.  First, put Instant Pot on saute mode (high).

#2.  Next, add ground beef, seasoning, and diced onions and bell peppers. Saute just until there is no pink left in the meat.

#3.  Then drain any remaining grease from the Instant Pot.

#4.  Next add your 2 cups of chicken broth, 4 cups of water, and 4 spoonfuls of roux.

#5.  Keep your Instant Pot on saute mode, stir to dissolve roux, and boil for 30 minutes.

#6.  Next, add your diced potatoes to the Instant Pot.

#7.  Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position.

#8.  Then press the “Pressure Cook” button.  Next, press the “Pressure Level” button until you have selected “High Pressure”.

#9.  Turn the timer on for 15 minutes.

#10. Then, once the timer has completed let it do a natural release of pressure for 10 minutes.  Then do a quick release of any remaining pressure.   **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.

#11. Finally, your Instant Pot Ground Beef and Potatoes are ready to be served.  You can eat them just like this or serve it over rice!

  • Pressure Cooker - Instant Pot

  • 1 Tbsp. Morton Nature Seasoning blend of salt, pepper, onion powder, & garlic powder mixture
  • 1 Tbsp. Tony Chachere's Seasoning Creole Season All
  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 4 Cups Water

Instructions
 

  • First, put Instant Pot on saute mode (high).
  • Next, add ground beef,seasoning, and diced onions and bell peppers. Saute just until there is no pinkleft in the meat.
