Instant Pot Baked Potatoes

This Instant Pot Baked Potatoes recipe is so quick and easy.  I much rather pressure cooking my baked potatoes in my Instant Pot than cooking them in the oven.  You still need to scrub and rinse your potatoes first just as you normally would.  Also, you will need to pierce the sides of the potatoes with a fork before pressure cooking them.  This will let the steam release from them as they are cooking.

You can cook them either with or without the trivet.  If you choose not to use your trivet then the bottom of your potatoes that are sitting in the water will be more like boiled rather than steamed.

How many pounds of potatoes can you cook in your Instant Pot?

You can cook as many potatoes as you want in your Instant Pot.  Pile them one on top of the other or in a single layer.   Just as long as they are not stacked higher than the fill line.  You will still only need one cup of water on the bottom in order for them to steam (pressure cook).

#4.  Place your potatoes on top of your trivet.

#5.  Next, close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position.

#6.  Then press the “Pressure Cook” button.  Next, press the “Pressure Level” button until you have selected “High Pressure”.

#7.   Turn the timer on for 20 minutes.  Once the pressure builds up, the timer will start counting down.

#8.   Then, once the timer has completed let it do a natural release of pressure for 10 minutes.  Which means do not open the venting valve.  It will naturally release the pressure on its own for 10 minutes.  Then use a towel to open the steam release valve to “venting” to release the remaining steam.  **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.

#9.  Your potatoes are now ready to be dressed with whatever toppings you like!
